Position Objectives:

The Town of Hampstead is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits plan. The Hampstead Police Department is focused on providing quality law enforcement services based on a community policing model to the residents and businesses of the Town and the surrounding community. Applications are being accepted for both entry-level and current MPCTC-certified officers. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs a variety of police duties essential to the preservation of law and order in the Town of Hampstead; ensures public safety; controls traffic, and responds to calls for service; performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 21 Years of Age
  • U.S. Citizen
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Successful applicants must be capable of passing an oral interview and comprehensive background investigation, including a polygraph test & psychological screening, as well as a physical & drug screen.

Desirable Training and Experience:

Entry-Level - none

Certified - Current MPCTC certification as a Police Officer in accordance with the Article 41, Section 4-201 of the Annotated Code of Maryland.
