Records Requests
Welcome to the Hampstead Police Records page. Here, you can request various records, including incident reports, crash reports, and public information. All requests will be processed in accordance with agency policy, the Maryland Public Information Act (MPIA), Title 4 of the General Provisions Article, and relevant court and judiciary rules.
The Hampstead Police Department utilizes GovQuest for all records request processing. GovQuest is an online system enabling you to submit requests for records online. This system simplifies the process of submitting requests for and receiving public records, allowing you to pay for and receive your records electronically. Please use the following link to submit your records requests at records.govquest.com.
Types of Records to Request:
Incident Reports
Accident Reports
Photos
Body Worn Camera Footage
In-Car Camera Footage
MPIA/FOIA
Please allow at least 7-10 days from the date of occurrence for reports to become available for release. Each report is different; some may be made available sooner or later depending on several factors. You can always contact us by phone or email to inquire about the status of a report. Reports will ONLY be released to interested parties and will not be released if part of an active investigation.
There is a $10.00 reproduction fee for all requested categories. Each request will be reviewed to ensure accurate processing and applicable exemptions from disclosure. Some requests may require extensive search and/or redactions, and you will be notified if additional charges apply. We strongly urge you to be as specific as possible when requesting video footage, and as this can be costly to you. Reports WILL NOT be released before payment.
Payment can be made through the GovQuest system using a credit card, or you can pay in cash or by check at the Hampstead Police Department. Please make all checks or money orders payable to "The Town of Hampstead."
Monthly Reports
Chief Snyder provides the Mayor and Council with a monthly report at the Town Council Meeting held on the second Tuesday of every month. This report provides statistics for the prior month on traffic safety and enforcement, patrol checks, serious crime, arrests, department training, and community events. A link to each month's report for the past six months can be found below.
