Wayne H. Thomas, Council Member

Wayne Thomas has served on the Town Council since 1993. He graduated from the University of Maryland College Park in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science. He is employed by Constellation Energy Company and works at their Baltimore Headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland as a SCADA Engineer.

Wayne first moved to Hampstead in 1991 and now lives on Main Street with his wife Nora Ward. He has served on the Hampstead Planning Commission, as Vice President of the Town Council, liaison to the Hampstead Business Association and as a representative to the Carroll County Economic Development Commission. Wayne is the President of the Hampstead Train Station Committee, Inc. and served for ten years on the Board of the Hampstead Business Association, six of those years as President. He co-chaired the Hampstead Main Street Comprehensive Plan and Advisory Committee, which created the Main Street Revitalization Plan. Wayne has served on the Farmers Market Advisory Board for 13 years and hosts the Hampstead Train Station’s Music in the Park events.

Wayne continues to work for the economic development of Hampstead, the completion of the Main Street revitalization, expansion of Hampstead’s recreational facilities, sustainability, and to keep Hampstead a great place to live.

Wayne's areas of Council oversight responsibility are the Hampstead Train Station and the Tree Commission. He is the current Vice President of the Council.

His term expires in May 2025.
