Trash & Recycling Services

Curbside Trash & Recycling

Trash and recyclables are picked up every Tuesday or Wednesday, the day/route depending on where you live in Town.  If you are unsure of your pickup day, please call the Town Office. Residents should place trash and recyclables curbside on Monday evening for Tuesday pickup and Tuesday evening for Wednesday pickup.

The Town will provide small recycling bins to new residents. A list of acceptable recyclables is available within the Carroll County Landfill's brochure in the link to the right.

Due to the Landfill closure, pickup will be delayed by one day when the following holidays occur: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.

Bulk Trash

Bulk Trash

The Town offers three (3) bulk trash pickup days per year for in-Town residents only (those who live within the incorporated Town limits and pay Town taxes). These days are reserved for large non-hazardous items like old chairs, appliances, etc. Bulk trash days are always scheduled for the third (3rd) Saturday of March, July, and October. Residents should place bulk items curbside by Friday evening. **Please refrain from putting bulk items out on regular trash days - our trash collector will not pick them up except on the designated Bulk Trash dates.** We cannot pick up tires, paint, motors, items with freon, oil or other hazardous waste or construction materials. Construction materials include: wood / lumber from decks, fences, swingsets, etc.; landscaping materials; drywall; cement/concrete; rocks; bricks/blocks; metal stakes/poles. Construction materials and hazardous waste must be disposed of privately. You may call Carroll County Landfill at 410-386-4550 or visit their website at http://ccgovernment.carr.org/ccg/recycle/landfill.asp for questions concerning disposal of these items.
